Did you know SharePoint has its own DOM?

Andrew Connel wrote  about Sharepoint 2007 and his own DOM in Understanding how Web Parts are rendered why to never use Render() and a bit on accessibility.

Most interesting in his atricle is that when webpart developers override the render() method the default table markup for a webpart is replaced.
Consequently developers cannot use the default  <div>ID generated by  Sharepoint to get to the Web Part via client-side code. Use RenderContents() or CreateChildControls()… instead.
